Series Review: A Court of Thorns and Roses

I ugly cried all over this book, and I don’t even care.

When someone comes in looking for a YA recommendation, the series that comes to mind is Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses. I became addicted to this series not long after I started working at this beautiful library, and I have gotten more than my fair share of readers equally as obsessed.

What do I like about it?

It started off like a few other YA series I’ve read. There’s the potential love triangle, plenty of angst, and tons of adventure. As I’ve kept reading, however, it’s the twists and turns that keep me on my toes and flipping the pages.

There’s the sheer magnitude of characters and character arcs, first of all. Then there’s the shifting alliances and motivations, the secrets to shield and uncover.

But what I truly enjoy is our heroine, Feyre. Her journey starts innocuously enough before her eyes are opened to worlds outside the human realm. You’re going to laugh and cry, rage and grieve.

And you’re going to admire this woman who isn’t afraid to face her enemies–even if sometimes that’s herself.
