Enid Public Library Joins National Effort to Promote Voter Registration

The Enid Public Library joins a coalition of thousands of partners nationwide to celebrate National Voter Registration Day to ensure that every eligible American is registered to vote in advance of the 2024 presidential election.

On Tuesday, September 17, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., volunteers at the Enid Public Library will be available to help community members register to vote online or on paper and to check their registration status.

According to post-2020 election Census data, 64% of voting-age Oklahomans were registered to vote. However, only 55.5% of registered voters participated in the election. This year, the Enid Public Library is committed to increasing those numbers and ensuring that every eligible citizen is ready to make their voice heard.

“Every eligible citizen deserves the opportunity to exercise their right to be heard at the ballot box. It is crucial for individuals to verify their voter registration status,” said Margo Holmes the Enid Public Library’s program coordinator. “Let’s work together to ensure a strong and representative democracy.”

The Enid Public Library is proud to stand alongside thousands of national, state, and local organizations, as well as numerous dedicated volunteers, who drive National Voter Registration Day’s mission to ensure every eligible American is registered before heading to the polls. Partner organizations ranging from local libraries and college campuses to major corporations will mobilize a significant number of online and offline events, leveraging this major civic holiday to draw attention to the importance of voter registration.
