Enid Public Library Hosts Virtual Author Visit with New York Times Bestselling Author Shelby Van Pelt

Enid, OK – 08/08/24 – The Enid Public Library is excited to announce a live virtual visit from New York
Times bestselling author Shelby Van Pelt. On August 21, Pelt will join the library virtually to discuss her
debut novel, Remarkably Bright Creatures. This free event offers a unique opportunity for readers to
take a deep-dive exploration of friendship, reckoning, hope, and much more.

Remarkably Bright Creatures tells the story of Tova Sullivan, who began working the night at the Sowell
Bay Aquarium after the death of her husband. As she does her best to keep busy to help her cope, her
routine is disrupted when she forms an unexpected friendship with Marcellus, a giant grumpy Pacific
octopus.

Marcellus becomes an unlikely friend for Tova as he uncovers hidden truths about her son’s mysterious
disappearance 30 years ago in order to help her find the truth. Remarkably Bright Creatures offers a
heartwarming blend of wit and emotion, as well as an unforgettable journey.

The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21. Participants have the option of gathering
together at the library or watching from the comfort of their own homes. Attendees will have the
