This event is part of the 5-part series Civil Rights and Equality: A Pulitzer Prize Centennial Series. Books are available for checkout at the library. In case of inclement weather on the scheduled date, the event will be rescheduled for February 27, 2025 at 6:00 PM.

About the Book:
Edward P. Jones’ The Known World is a richly detailed historical novel following Henry Townsend, a former slave who becomes a plantation owner, and his wife, who grapples with the moral dilemmas of his legacy. The novel challenges perceptions of the antebellum South, weaving themes of ambition, power, and systemic inequality.
