Enid Public Library, AARP to Host Senior Planet Webinar on Disaster Preparedness Technology
May 11, 2026
The library will continue its partnership with AARP this spring with another Senior Planet webinar focused on helping older adults build digital skills for everyday life.
The next session, “Tech Tips for Disaster Preparedness,” will take place Thursday, May 14, at 9:30 a.m. The program is free and open to the public.
This session will explore how technology can play a critical role in preparing for emergencies and natural disasters. Participants will learn how mobile apps, smartphones, and online tools can help them stay informed, connected, and ready when unexpected situations arise.
Topics will include using trusted apps for emergency alerts, making the most of built-in smartphone safety features, and staying updated through reliable social media sources. The program will also cover practical ways to keep devices powered and accessible during extended outages, along with other simple steps to improve overall preparedness.
The Senior Planet series is designed with older adults in mind and offers accessible, beginner-friendly instruction to help participants feel more confident using technology in their daily lives.
