Monthly Language Exchange

The Enid Public Library is launching its Monthly Language Exchange, a new recurring drop-in program for adults age 18 and older to share languages, practice new ones, and connect with fellow learners.

The first session will be Saturday, Sept. 19, at noon. Unlike a formal language class, the Monthly Language Exchange is a casual conversation club open to all skill levels. Participants can practice with native speakers and other learners in a relaxed, low-pressure setting.

Each month will feature conversation starters inspired by seasonal topics, cultural traditions and customs from around the world. Participants will also receive name tags showing their name, the languages they speak, and the languages they are learning.

“The Monthly Language Exchange program is an immersive, welcoming environment where participants can engage in informal conversations with native speakers and fellow learners,” said program coordinator Evi Dowell. “We welcome all languages at all skill levels. If you’ve ever been curious about learning a language or sharing yours, this will be the place to be.”
