Library Workshop Teaches Budget-Friendly Cooking Before Thanksgiving

The Enid Public Library will host a Pantry Power-Up pop-up-event at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, designed to help community members make the most of what might already be in their kitchen ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The hands-on workshop will focus on transforming simple pantry items such as beans, rice and canned goods into budget-friendly meals. Participants will learn easy meal-planning strategies, cooking tips, and ways to stretch their budget at the grocery store.
Attendees can also sample recipes, take home recipe cards, and enter for a chance to win a meal kit during the event.
Recipes include Turkey or Chicken Dinner in a Bag, Thick and Creamy Corn Chowder, 5-Can Chili, Creamy Chicken and Dumplings, and Cheese Chicken and Rice Soup
