Homebound Book Service Connects Enid Residents With Library Materials
October 08, 2026
For those who have difficulty getting to the library, picking up a new book or audiobook isn’t always possible. The Enid Public Library’s Homebound Book Service helps make sure everyone can enjoy the library, no matter their ability to visit in person.
This free delivery service brings books and other library materials directly to elderly or disabled individuals who are unable to come to the library. Whether you enjoy a good mystery, want to catch up on the latest bestseller, or are looking for something new to learn, the Homebound Book Service helps keep library materials within reach from the comfort of home.
Reading can also be an important part of staying mentally active and connected. “Keeping our minds active is important for living independently. Reading helps slow memory decline, delay dementia symptoms, and Alzheimer’s,” said Katiea Ayers, RN, a program coordinator at the Enid Public Library.
The Homebound Book Service is one way the library continues to serve the community beyond its walls, helping ensure that everyone has access to the joy, and benefits of reading.
