Enid Public Library Celebrates National Friends of Libraries Week
October 19, 2026
The Enid Public Library is proud to celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week, Oct. 18–24, by recognizing the Friends of the Enid Public Library and their continued dedication to supporting library programs, staff, and the community.
The Friends of the Enid Public Library are a community of supporters, volunteers, and book lovers who help strengthen the library’s role in Garfield County. Through their generosity, countless volunteer hours, and ongoing fundraising efforts, the Friends help make library programs, resources, and services more accessible to the community.
Their impact is reflected in their accomplishments throughout the past year. In 2025, Friends volunteers contributed more than 800 hours to library programs and activities. Their support has also helped enroll more than 1,900 children in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program since 2024, encouraging early literacy and helping young readers build a foundation for lifelong learning. Additionally, the Friends sold more than 1,000 books in 2025, with proceeds supporting library programs and staff throughout the year.
Beyond fundraising, Friends members take an active role in library and community activities. They help sort donated books, maintain the Friends Book Sale shelves, and assist with events such as AuthorFest, arts and crafts programs, cultural celebrations, and author talks. They also operate the Cleveland Trailhead Little Free Library and represent the library at community events, including First Friday.
Membership in the Friends of the Enid Public Library is open to the public for $10 per year, with all proceeds going directly toward supporting and enhancing library services. Community members interested in joining can visiting their website to sign up.
The Enid Public Library is grateful for the time, generosity, and dedication the Friends contribute throughout the year. Their support helps the library continue to provide meaningful programs, encourage literacy, and serve as a welcoming resource for the entire community.
