Free Senior Planet Program Helps Older Adults Navigate Online Privacy
June 6, 2026
The library will continue its partnership with AARP this summer with another Senior Planet webinar focused on helping older adults build digital skills for everyday life.
The next session, “Essential Privacy Tips,” will take place Thursday, June 11, at 9:30 a.m. The program is free and open to the public.
This introductory session will help participants better understand online privacy and how personal information is shared while using the internet. Attendees will learn how online ads target users, what website cookies are, and how to make informed decisions about privacy settings while browsing online.
The program will also cover practical ways to limit online tracking, including where to find browser settings and extensions that offer greater control over personal information. In addition, participants will learn about password managers, including how they work and why they are considered a safe and secure tool for managing passwords.
The Senior Planet series is designed with older adults in mind and offers accessible, beginner-friendly instruction to help participants feel more confident using technology in their daily lives.
