Step Back in Time with Andrew Carnegie at the Enid Public Library

The Chautauqua Council of Enid and the Enid Public Library will present a historical reenactment of Andrew Carnegie at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, in the Great Plains Room of the library.

Andrew Carnegie, industrialist and philanthropist, funded the construction of more than 2,500 libraries worldwide, including the previous Enid Carnegie Library. The event will highlight Carnegie’s lasting impact on education, culture, and libraries, offering a glimpse into the legacy of one of the most influential figures in American history.

Dr. Tom N. King as Andrew Carnegie

During the event, Dr. Tom N. King, a former history teacher and graduate of Enid High School, will portray Carnegie, offering an interactive storytelling experience that brings the icon to life. Afterwards, Dr. King will step out of character to answer questions about Carnegie’s life and legacy, as well as his research process.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit enid.okpls.org or contact the library at 580-234-6313 or publiclibrary@enid.org.
