Book Review: Liar’s Bench by Kim Michele Richardson

Review by Alyca

Set in the early 1970’s, this book touches on racism and murder.

Mudas is the main character and her momma gets murdered. The small town in Kentucky’s police chief thinks her alcoholic husband has done this to her. Others in town start gossip that maybe she did it to herself.  But Mudas knows her momma better than that, and she will stop at nothing to find out what really happened.  To clear her momma’s name, she gets shot at and nearly dies herself. She finds out the truth and finds love along the way. Even if it is a love that most people in the area don’t think is right. Mudas doesn’t care. She will love him anyway.
