July 2018

Enid Public Library Adult Classes, Workshops, and Events

Greetings Readers,

We continue to work on curriculum for fall and would much appreciate your input. Here is a link to a Google survey I’ve created to make it easy for everyone to participate. Everyone who completes the survey will be eligible for a prize! I will draw a winner at the end of July, so if you haven’t already participated, please do so now.

Where in the world would you go if you had the opportunity? Tell me in 40 words or less for a chance to win a set of travel books. You may either email your short essay to me at meholmes@enid.org or stop by the library and drop your entry into the drawing box.

Journaling in the Stacks: Travel Edition takes place on July 24 at 5:30 pm. We will look at ways to capture and preserve your travel adventures. Art journaling is a creative way to express one’s self-utilizing mixed media materials such as writing, sketching, stamping, collage, etc. Bring your existing journal or use one of ours. This workshop is for all skill levels-beginner to advanced. Check out the library’s Pinterest Board for ideas.

Have you always wanted to learn Spanish, but never got around to it? Enid Public Library comes to the rescue with free Language Classes each Saturday. Cesar Leon teaches beginning Spanish at 1:00. What an excellent opportunity to learn or brush up on a foreign language.

Do you know someone who needs to learn English? English 101 classes are held each Saturday at 2:00.

Library volunteer, Jody, will teach free knitting and crochet classes from 10:30-12:30 on June 9. Come and enjoy the library’s air-conditioning while learning a new craft.

Sit & Stitch meets every Friday from 3:30-6:00 and is s great opportunity to unwind from a stressful work week by stitching (and chatting) alongside like-minded crafters.

Please see our July calendar for even more events. As always, all library activities are free and open to the public. If you have any questions or comments about the events listed, please let me know. My email address and voicemail phone number are at the bottom of this newsletter.

Sincerely,

Margo Holmes
