Help keep Enid warm this winter by donating hats, scarves, and mittens to Chase the Chill: Enid Edition. “Chase the Chill” combines art, service to community, and yarn bombing by placing handmade hats and scarves in public places so that those in need—regardless of income and without qualifiers—can help themselves. The movement was started by Susan Huxley in Easton, PA and has spread across the US, Canada, and Europe. More information may be found at http://www.chasethechill.com/. The Enid Public Library joined Chase the Chill in 2016, serving as a collection point for donations and placing the items outside to be picked up.
You can help by bringing your donation of new or handmade hats, scarves, and mittens to the donation bin located on the library’s second floor. We will need items throughout the winter. All donated items will placed on the Chase the Chill clothesline on the east side of the library to be picked up by anyone who needs them. Time spent working on this project will qualify for services hours towards academic requirements. For more information call email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Margo at 580-616-7183.
