This year kicks off with 2 reading challenges for adults at the Enid Public Library. Both challenges are offered through the Beanstack website. To register just download the app or go to www.enid.beanstack.org. Follow the prompts to either create an account or log into your existing account. Then, look for the link for current challenges and select “Register”. We do encourage all challenge participants to use Beanstack to log their progress, but if someone is unable to do so, they will need to print out a reading log for each challenge they enter and fill it out by hand. The logs will need to be brought into the library each month so that a staff member can enter the information into Beanstack for the participant.

Our first challenge is to read 52 books in 52 weeks. Yes, that is a book a week. There is a list of suggested themes, but you may choose your own titles. Books should be adult or YA reading level and have at least 100 pages to qualify. Here is a link to a pdf version of the 52 in 52 Challenge that can be printed off. All 52 themes are listed in this form.

If 52 books is a bit more of a challenge than you would like to take on this year, how about 12 Books in 12 Months? That’s just a book a month. You choose what to read, again please only enter books intended for adult or YA readers that are at least 100 pages long. Here is a link to a pdf version on the challenge.
