Senior Planet Series at Library to Help Older Adults Navigate Technology
April 3, 2026
The Enid Public Library will partner with AARP to bring a new series of educational technology programs to the community this spring through Senior Planet webinars, designed to help older adults navigate the digital world.
The library will host screenings of each webinar in the Senior Planet series, beginning with “AI & Disinformation” on April 9 at 9:30 a.m. The sessions are free and open to the public.
The “AI & Disinformation” program will explore how false information created to mislead audiences has evolved with modern technology. With the rise of artificial intelligence and social media, disinformation can now be produced and shared more quickly and convincingly than ever before.
During the session, participants will learn how AI-powered tools are used to create deepfakes and cloned voices, making it increasingly difficult to distinguish between authentic and manipulated content. The program will also cover practical strategies for evaluating information and introduce technology tools that can help identify AI-generated material.
The series is designed with older adults in mind and offers accessible, beginner-friendly instruction. Additional Senior Planet webinars will be offered throughout the year, including “Intro to Managing Your Privacy,” “Tech Basics for Caregivers,” and more.
