Free Library Program Offers Guidance for Teens and New Adults
January 20, 2026
The Enid Public Library will host its January Life Skills program, Life After High School, on Tuesday, January 27, at 4:30 p.m. The free session is open to teens and new adults ages 13 to 25, and parents or guardians are encouraged to attend.
Enid Regional Development Alliance Executive Director Marcie Mack will discuss joining the workforce, successful job seeking, and apprenticeship opportunities, including the ability to sign up during the event. Autry Technology Center counselor Shayne Stanford will share information about technical education, trade programs, and entrepreneurship pathways, while Matthew Gray of Northern Oklahoma College Enid will provide details on admissions, academic programs, and financial aid. Pioneer High School counselor Anita Trojan will also be available to explain resources available to high school students and families as they plan for life after graduation.
The program will include a question-and-answer session tailored to the needs and goals of teens, new adults, and their families. Participants will also have the opportunity to complete a questionnaire during the program to help identify career interests.
“Life after high school isn’t just about college,” said program coordinator Evi Dowell. “We’re talking about real options, college, career training, apprenticeships, and jobs, so teens and parents can learn what comes next, ask questions, and start planning their next steps with confidence.”
Teen Advisory Board member and library patron Hailey said the program offers valuable guidance for students preparing for the future.
“After high school, it is very important to understand what you want to do with your life and your future,” Hailey said. “Many tips and tricks will be taught here.”
The event is free, and no registration is needed. For more information, contact the library at 580-234-6313, email publiclibrary@enid.org, or visit enid.okpls.org.
