Wow!  I couldn’t put this book down!

Flashing between the present and the past, Alice, who has her own family drama, is sent on a quest by her 95-year-old grandmother to discover all of the secrets of her past before she leaves the earth.

Her grandmother, Hanna, was living in Poland during the time of the Nazi occupation and was engaged to her love.  What ensues is a tale of fortitude, determination, and survival.

For Alice, it is simply what she has to do for her grandmother, who has been the most loving, generous person in her life, always.  The journey she embarks on not only unveils many surprises about her grandmother’s life, but it also brings to light her situation and brings her family together and makes them whole in ways she never thought imaginable.

I highly recommend this book if you enjoy historical fiction.  It gave me all the feels.
