Full title: Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be by Rachel Hollis

This is the book I didn’t know I needed in my life. Rachel Hollis gets down to the nitty-gritty of the lies we tell ourselves. Each chapter starts with a lie she once believed that made her life more difficult and overwhelming.  After telling us her background with the lie, she then ends the chapter with ways she solved these problems that may help you as well.

I have to be honest, when this book was super popular a few months back, I thought, “Oh, yay. Another self-help book for women.” On a whim, I picked this up and decided to listen to it on audio. I was blown away by how many things Rachel wrote about that I could relate to and how much I laughed, cried, and generally enjoyed this book. Whether it was talking about her body image or raising her kids, Hollis made it seem like a conversation  between good friends and not a pushy you-must-try-this-one-method-to-solve-all-your-problems. I loved every minute of it and recommend it to any woman who has ever doubted herself.
