There are a lot of benefits to being in a book club. Meet fellow book worms, discover new genres and authors, share your favorites.
Want to join, but don’t know where to start? Check out the three on-going book clubs at the Enid Public Library!
Great American Bestsellers Book Club
Join us the first Tuesday of every month and read that American Bestseller you’ve been meaning to read. We explore the relationship between popularity and quality in American fiction with a different classic.
Here’s a schedule of upcoming reads for the next few months:
- 5/7: The Virginian by Owen Wister
- 6/4: The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton
- 7/2: The Jungle by Upton Sinclair
2nd Tuesday Book Club
This book club meets–you guessed it!–every 2nd Tuesday of the month. This book club introduces you to current and contemporary reads. The chosen book changes every month, and it can be picked up at the service desk a month before the book club date!
Here’s the list for upcoming months:
- 5/14: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
- 6/11: Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
- 7/9: Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card
Eat Your Words Cookbook Club
We’re very excited about this book club! Participants check out a recipe book at the library based on the month’s chosen theme. Then you make the recipe and bring it in for the whole group to try, having a mini-picnic at the library. It meets the 4th Tuesday of every month.
Discover that new cookbook or a new family favorite recipe! Don’t cook but would love to participate? We can help you find an easy no-cook recipe for you.
Here’s a list of the next few monthly themes:
- 5/28: BBQ/Picnic
- 6/25: Space Shuttle Menu
- 7/23: International Space Shuttle Menu
Interested in giving one a try?
All of these events are free and open to the public, and each book club starts at 6:00 PM on its chosen Tuesday! Come for one; come for all. No obligations, and we’d be happy to have you! Books for the Great American Bestsellers Book Club and 2nd Tuesday Book Club can be picked up at the library service desk one month before the book club date!
