Dear Readers,

The weather has finally decided to act like autumn. I feel like the time between Halloween and Thanksgiving gets shorter each year and everywhere I go people are talking about home projects they need to finish by Thanksgiving since they will be hosting family. I can count myself in that crowd and plan to spend my spare time putting paint to wall. I hope that in this busy time you will be able to relax with a book. One of the cozy mystery books I’ve chosen to read in November is A Catered Thanksgiving by Isis Crawford. This eBook is available through our catalog here:

Here is a quick synopsis of the Library’s November activities.

Gilmore Girls Trivia Contest. Think you’re a Gilmore? Prove it at the Enid Public Library’s Gilmore Girls Trivia Night on Nov. 2. At 5:30. Gather your friends and register to compete for prizes. Questions will cover trivia, music, fashion, and more. Want extra credit? Come dressed as your favorite character and bring Gilmore approved snacks to keep you sustained during this grueling battle of wits. Coffee, of course, will be provided. Competition begins at 5:30 sharp, so don’t be late! Register here: 

Chase the Chill with Fleece.  Join the movement to keep Enid warm this winter! Learn to make fleece mittens on Thursday, Nov. 9th at a drop in workshop from 4:00-6:30. Please bring a sewing machine (with bobbins) if possible. Fabric, patterns, and thread will be provided.

The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenagger will be the subject of the Nov. 14th Book Talk at 6:00 pm. Copies of the book are available for check out at the first floor service desk.

 Gilmore Girls Craftiness. Need more Gilmore in your life? Join us in Paris Geller’s Craft Corner where we will decorate coffee mugs, t-shirts or market bags, and make a Christmas ornament.

Bring a white or light colored t-shirt or cloth bag and we’ll provide the rest. Join us for this drop-in event from 4:30-6:30. More information can be found here:

 Continuing programs for November are Tai Chi at 4:30 pm Nov 1 and 15; and Sit & Stitch from 3:30-6:00 on Nov 3 and 17.
