Has tax season got you feeling a little perturbed? Join us at 2:00 pm on April 15th for murder, mayhem, and the ultimate revenge… Stephen Sondheim’s musical masterpiece Sweeney Todd returns to life in a bold performance by The New York Philharmonic, starring Bryn Terfel and Emma Thompson. This screening of the 2014 performance is presented in arrangement with Lincoln Center Local, a program created by Lincoln Center Education and hosted by libraries and community centers. One of the darkest musicals ever written, Sweeney Todd: A Musical Thriller is the tale of a Victorian-era barber who returns home to London after fifteen years of exile to take revenge on the corrupt judge who ruined his life. When revenge eludes him, Sweeney swears vengeance on the entire human race. This program contains language or scenes that some may find objectionable. Viewer discretion is advised.
